Getting involved with The Malawi Initiative is easier than ever. With a broad variety of choices, you can impact thousands of lives and find deep fulfillment in each endeavor.
Listed here, you will find each initiative broken down by gifts, skills, and time.
Giving Gifts:*
Through The Malawi Initiative you are able to give gifts and know that designated monetary and supply based gifts go 100% to the needs listed in Malawi. There are no administration fees and no percentage take-backs. Total gifts for total needs is our policy.
Giving money can either be targeted to a specific project or given generally and applied to a project at hand. Any monies given are 100% tax deductible through The Malawi Initiative.
Current projects:
P-1: New church facilities being built in Mchinji, Malawi. Facilities, once completed, will be able to be a center to train leaders, feed families in desperate need, and care for orphaned children while teaching them Godly principles and faith. Total project cost: $7,000. Contact Us

P-2: Orphan support project. While plans are being created to run our own orphanage, we are partnering with various orphanages and church communities in caring for the great children of Malawi. With a gift of $ 50 monthly or $600 yearly, you can help support a child and know that you have fed them, cared for their needs, and provided an element of education for them. Contact Us
P-3: Sewing for Life project. With your one time gift of $500, you are able to give a widow, HIV victim, or struggling woman the capitol to brighten her future. This investment will give the recipient one year of sewing training, once completed, a sewing machine, money for fabrics and the chance to start her own business. This is a great way to invest in the future of Malawian women while giving them the ability to be self-sufficient and provide for their families. Contact Us

P-4: Pastors training project. With a gift of $ 110 monthly or $ 1320 yearly, you can support a pastor with his entire family. We have set our focus on this project in knowing that if we are able to train and empower a pastor, he in turn is able to reach, train, and empower the people in his village. The cost will include providing food for the pastor and his family, resources and networking for better leadership skills, and a yearly training conference that brings practicality to meeting the needs he is faced with. P-5: Pigs and Trees project. With a gift of $50, you can provide a church pastor with either a pig or some banana trees. This effort provides the church community with a small capitol investment that can yield a large return for all whom the church will reach. One female pig will breed many piglets that will continue a cycle of food and income for those involved. A few banana trees will create some sustenance and income for the church family and community. Giving Skills:
Partnering with The Malawi Initiative, you are able to experience the warm heart of Africa first hand. The next volunteer trip will take place spring 2010. The trip will consist of leadership training, food distribution, orphanage service, medical missions and open-air crusades over the course of 10 days (not including travel days - 14 days total). It is a well rounded trip that will indeed spark your heart for Africa.
The trip cost is $3,000 (subject to airfare). Included in the price of the trip is airfare (from JFK), lodging in Malawi, all meals, transportation, and sponsorship of an orphan or pastor for 1 year. The sponsorship gives you a way to continue to reach Malawi long after the trip has ended.
